Just Voices Community Choir

Just Voices is a community choir based in Kingsthorpe Baptist Church, which began in 2013. We currently have about 25 members, most of whom are not connected to the church.

We welcome everyone who wants to come and sing with us. There are no auditions, no minimum standard and no need to read music. In fact most of us have no previous experience of singing, and quite a few would claim to be bad at singing. Nonetheless we do sing!

Our repertoire is chosen to be as varied as possible: African songs, 1960s pop, songs from the shows, art songs, Eighteenth Century rounds and catches, East European folk, British folk, sea shanties, folk rock, jazz standards, hymns and spirituals. We mostly sing without accompaniment.

We sing mostly for our own pleasure, enjoying the music and each other’s company. We have a concert each July, and usually accept one or two other bookings during the year.

New members are always welcome. Just turn up one Monday evening at 7pm during school term time, and see if you think you could fit in with us. Don’t expect us to be too serious. If you think you would like to sing with us regularly, we would love to have you.
